I don't think I've ever heard a complaint that my online resume is too long, but I did get such feedback
when I used to snailmail a version longer than two pages.

Even at 5+ pages with all of the forbidden bits like a Professional Goals section, the calls I get are from people who
seem to have read and comprehended my resume. Maybe I get roundfiled a lot more than I know? Doh!

The resume I send or email is short, sweet and addresses the position requirements. It includes my skills section and any pertinent awards or education. It's also only two pages long and I have over 30 years experience in the workforce. I also leave a "marketing" CD that includes my complete resume, samples of previous work and any other supporting information that will help the hiring authority understand that I am the best solution to their problem. The short resume is to get me the interview. I have noticed that since I started tailoring my resume and keeping it short and sweet, I've gotten a lot more interviews.
