I've always associated deploy with server/network-level operations and
install with individual boxes-hence "undeploy whatever from the HCDP004
and HCDP005 servers," and "uninstall XP from your computer and silently
pray."

As far as decommission goes-yes, I usually think of a naval vessel, but
it could also apply to legacy systems. After all old naval vessels and
legacy systems are both outdated hulks that require too much
maintenance. Such as the VAX system that's still in our CIO's garage.
