Re: OT: Re: Aurora Borealis
I live between Chicago and Milwaukee, and the lights were great lastI used to live in Fairbanks, AK where they were overhead almost every night.....pretty awesome stuff. They actually shoot rockets from the University of Alaska's Poker Flat Rocket Range, about 20 miles north of town, with payloads of barium to study the aurora. Check out the Geophysical Institute's website on the aurora (http://www.pfrr.alaska.edu/aurora/index.html). It will give you prediction on the intensity of the aurora.
night. Not a lot of color (green and white) but they pulsed nicely.
They should also be visible tonight.
