Whew! I am glad that people reread my post to understand that the metrics I
presented were for technical EDITING, not WRITING.

So many times I am asked to give an estimate of how long a project will take
and then to justify the basis for my estimate. I suspect that others are
asked the same question. By sharing our collective experiences, we can
respond accordingly.

Having a range of metrics on a single discussion thread might help the
person who is searching the archives for this kind of information.

For basic tech editing and formatting, 7-10 pages per hour should be a
good
estimate. Depends somewhat on the quality of the input -- lots of rewrite
moves the task from editing back into writing.
