I concur.  I'm writing a simple document that has a few screenshots, an
explanation of fields, what our programmers do to a small SQL stored
procedure, and end-user instructions.  All in all, it will be no more
than 2 or 3 pages, but it's difficult to tell how long a document like
this will take, especially when you rely on input from a SME who's busy
with other projects, and your project manager wants it in a different
format that was very close to your first draft. . .  Sorry-I started
grumbling a bit. . .  Anyway. . .

For other documentation, I tend toward the Montgomery Scott school of
giving estimates-the whole "miracle worker" reputation and all.
