Wow, you guys are so out my league here. I feel like this is Lewis&Clark-L.
My cell phone is always on me (makes showering a trick), but that's about it
as far as communications gear. The following link does put into perspective

Since I live in Los Angelleez - where the roads are paved with Starbucks and
Krispy Kremes - there's really no need. If I go out on a limb here, I'd
guess that carrying gas in a trunk is a bad idea.
