I am encountering a strange error while inserting graphics in a Epic (Epic
Arbortext 4.1.3 version) document.
Our document is based on a DTD (pre defined template) wherein we are able to
insert graphics (picture).
But if a document is uploaded to Documentum and checked out from there it
does not allow to insert picture. An help id is auto generated, our doubt is
whether is it due to auto generation of help id the insertion is prevented.
Because the document does not display the tag used for inserting picture.
Kindly can any one let us know how the problem can be addressed.

This site is dedicated to Arbortext authoring tools' users:
http://adepters.org/

The site is named after the adepters mailing list (Adept was an
earlier name of Epic) here:
http://forums.arbortext.com/

Here's a bit more info on adepters:
To unsubscribe from the list, send an email to

(how to subscribe or unsubscribe etc), send an email to:

info Adepters - You may also go to forums.arbortext.com, enter the
Adepters folder and change your subscription options and preferences.

Absent someone in your organization who is well versed in XML and your
DTD and any local customizations you have, Arbortext Support may be
your best bet. They are now at ptc.com since their acquisition last
year or whenever that was.

ANYHOW,we use Epic 5.1h, Editor 5.2 m030, Documentum Desktop 5.2.5.205
SP2, and Documentum Webtop versions 5.2 and 5.3 (not sure of the patch
levels on these). We use graphics and check content in and out of
Documentum without disrupting our ability to manage graphics, so it's
not a product problem. More likely it's a configuration issue. Your
best bet, again, will be with someone in your organization familiar
with the various product deployments and customizations.
