I will representing Michigan Tech and technical writers in general at

together a
list of what tech writers do, so that when I am asked that question, I

and
stuff" reply.
I would really appreciate some help in replying to what we do. I can
give
them a list of what I do...but then again, that might scare them away.

Also, if anyone has advice for me to pass on to young innocent souls who
may
wish to become tech writers...let me know!
Hi Melissa,
Being originally from Michigan, I though all Yuppers do was play hockey and
drink cheap beer? (Just kidding....they don't all play hockey)
I think if you go through the archives, you'll find a lot of different
things TWs do. If I remember, we did a thread on this subject several
months ago and it looks like Dan beat me to the punch there...
Personally, I document hardware and software projects. My portfolio
includes user guides, installation manuals, operation and maintenance
manuals, Help, technically oriented marketing brochures, design and develop
websites, create video training scripts and whatever else the client wants
or needs.
