I live in Dallas and am no longer contracting, but I continue to receive calls and emails from recruiters in Austin at least once a month. Since I'm not actively looking and don't even live in Austin, I guess the market is good down there. Admittedly, most of the offers are for government-related contract work. But, if they have to contact someone all the way in Dallas, there must be some kind of shortage.

Austin is a beautiful city. Good luck down there!

My husband and I were thinking of moving to Austin Tx in the coming
years. When I look it up on the net I see mostly government type of
stuff though. I saw something about a mini software corridor but not
many tech writer jobs come up in Monster. It is hard to get a feel

We are not looking at moving right away but it is a thought. I wondered
how it would be for my field

Anyone in this field in Austin out there?

Thanks

Barbara Vega
