Because you are arguing that another country's professionals are not "real professionals" because they don't meet the standards of yours. In the US engineering *is* a profession,
and the vast majority of US engineers are considered "professionals" (last figure I heard, about 2,000,000) and employed as such without the need to be "Licensed Professionals."
Things may be very different in Canada, but this list is predominantly US, and let's face it, to most people in the US Canada is just that big, cold place up north populated by
people who talk funny and whose main function is to serve
as skewering targets for the cartoon characters on South Park.
