had thought to use Frame->MIF->RoboHelpHTML to get the

**help
system** but our development team wants it <my comment: help system>
automated using the command line
so
they can integrate the help creation into existing unattended build
system.
-->Their<-- ultimate goal is a -->command-line script <-- that will take
my <Lara's><<FrameMaker>>
files and <<THEY WILL>> produce web help with index and search, like the
help I can
create with RoboHelpHTML manually.

She said they (the developers) want to produce the help (themselves) with a
command line script<< from her *FrameMaker* files. That was what I was
asking: why did they want to do that?

Not saying that it's not possible somehow, but I was wondering why they
didn't want her to go ahead and use Robohelp (her original plan) and then
THEY could hook up her Robo output to the application. The Robo output can
go into a build: I've done that. I was wondering what they wanted to
accomplish by gen'ing the help from Framemaker, that's all.

Sorry you didn't understand me.

I have found that it is important for me to know *why* someone needs to do a
thing, because I am an experienced online help developer, and generally have
better idea of what my apps will do than they do. Many times, I've saved
them a bunch of grief too.

Char explained that it is possible to use a command line to gen the Robohelp
output. Didn't know that. Learn something new every day!

Aren't you talking about different things? Lara is looking for a HAT tool
that can be controlled from the command line to allow an automated
software build process. But you seem to have interpreted this to be
a request for command line access on the user's side.
