Thanks to all for the tips when I posted this question the other day. It
turns out that my items come up as either "rectangle" or "polyline" in the
properties listing, and today I replicated the problem, only with a new (or,
at least, heretofore unnoticed) wrinkle:

When I apply the Make Line Solid button to a known dashed line and print
from Frame, my lines are solid, as desired. (I verified this in a virgin
situation, where I had not adjusted any line settings today before opening
the file -- and pressed only the button above and the line thickness
setting.) However, after distilling, the PDF was created and prints with the
dashed lines. A copy of the offending file (minus a proprietary image) is
posted here: HYPERLINK

get.php?fid=169755.

I'd be appreciative of any further insights on what causes this and/or how
to correct it.

Thanks,
Jim
