If your question is whether "for profit" businesses have access to grant
money, the answer is yes. I am employed by a "for profit" company and
recently participated in writing a grant proposal to seek funds that a
government agency is offering to research and create systems that track
air quality.

Subject: Usefulness of Grant Writing to APMC?
Members,
Good afternoon. My wife is a local pediatrician with a large volume
medical practice, located in a small (pop. less than 5,000) southern
city. She expressed an interest in grant writing--and specifically
enrolling me in the local university's business division grant writing
offerings--but I am at a loss as to what, or rather how APMC (A
Professional Medical Corporation) might benefit from grant writing. I
have always associated grant writing with nonprofits. Of course, this
community of technical writers would know.
Looking forward to your responses.
Thanks, Karl
