If you have the Remember Missing Fonts option *selected*, that's
why you continue to get the missing fonts message. With the option
selected, FrameaMaker performs a *temporary* font substitution in
the on-screen version of the document, but when you save the
document it saves the original font specifications. The option needs
to be un-checked if you want FrameMaker to do a permanent
substitution and purge the "missing" font from the file.

But there are several more "sneaky locations" besides master pages
and reference pages.

One additional hiding place is the default paragraph formats for the
heading row and top body row in the Table Formats. Some cell in
some table format you no longer use may refer to a paragraph
format that is no longer in your paragraph catalog but that uses a
"missing" font. You'll never see that specification unless you create
a new table with that format and pick it apart. Or unless you save
the document as MIF and look for the font specification in that
plain text file format.

And yet another hiding place is EPS graphics. EPS is one of the
few graphics formats that really does embed font information,
and if the graphic specifies an unavailable font that is not
embedded in the graphic itself, you'll get the familar FrameMaker
warning.

My opinions only; I don't speak for Intel.

Hi everybody,
I'm trying to figure out how to stop the message appearing telling me a font is missing and being substituted when I have the fonts installed on my system.

I have done all the usual stuff selected "Remember Missing Fonts" checked all the sneaky locations i.e. Reference pages and Master pages.

Where else can I look.

Dave
