Subject:Frame question: forcing a page to the right side From:"Kevin Amery" <kevin -dot- amery -at- sympatico -dot- ca> To:<techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com> Date:Wed, 19 Jul 2006 09:56:37 -0400
Hi, all. Sorry if this is a bit of a Noob question - I have tried searching
Google without success.
I'm using FrameMaker 6.0. I have a document with a number of chapters, and I
want the first page of each chapter to always be a right side page. All of
the chapters are in one FM file - I COULD break them out into separate FM
files if I have to, but I'm trying to avoid that (largely to cut down on the
work load).
I have created a Master Page called "Chapter_First" for these first pages,
and have applied it through the Master Page Usage function. If it was
working, I would expect to see blank left side pages between chapters (some
of the chapters are only one page long). These blank pages are not
appearing. I have also tried just applying the Right master page to the
chapter start pages, but this also does not add the blank pages.
I could, of course, force page breaks, but the document is still going
through some edits which might affect pagination, so I don't think this is
the best approach.
Does anyone know if there is a way to force Frame to make a page always be
on the right? Or should I just break the chapters out into their own FM
files?
Thanks in advance.
Kevin Amery.
