Us nerds just refer to the init scripts, we know how many there are and what 
they are for :-)

I have yet to find a distro where a standard user can edit anything but what 
is in there ~ directory. So I agree that if a user does not have root access 
then they should not be poking around and should not be told to mess with the 
init scripts.

Again, we have no idea of the software being documented here, but IMHO, any 
software detined to be used by a standard desktop user should not condone 
editing the init scripts.
