Thanks again. Most of my experience with recruiters in the past
10 years or so has been as a hiring manager, and in that role we
only deal with recruiters who are on our "approved vendor" list,
so multiple submissions of the same candidate never seem to
happen to us. Of course, if a resume comes to us directly from
a candidate, we have no way of knowing who that candidate
may have talked to previously except for what he/she says in
the "how did you learn of this position" portion of the application
form.

As a potential candidate, it seems that most of my recent exchanges with recruiters has consisted of listening to job descriptions and telling them "thanks, but I'm not interested."
