Boss may be wrong about her facts, but if she tells you to rearrange
your desk, you should do it unless you have overarching reasons not to
-- glare from window on computer screen or cold/hot air from ventilating
system pouring on your neck, for example. Why would you not want to
comply with a directive from a boss?

Subject: sharing an office

Boss tells me that there is an OSHA regulation that requires a 30"
egress space (her figure was 30 something, I believe she said 30") for
each person w/in an office.
The distance between my desk and my office mate's desk is 42". Boss is
still telling me I need to rearrange my desk!
Does anyone know what the OSHA requirements are on sharing an office
with one other person, on safety issues-which is the position of my
boss. She believes that the current placement of my desk does not allow
ME enough space to exit my office safely.
Just so you know, I am not wheelchair bound (nor is my office mate),
both my legs operate above normal; I exercise daily and am very fit ; )
Thanks, Peggy Lucero
