I'm setting up my home office, having just left a long-term contract for
which I worked onsite.
I'm curious how you handle your telephone requirements. Here is my dream
setup:
---Phone would have Caller ID
---Console (you know, the big part that sits on the desk) would have
buttons for preset #s (I prefer physical buttons to a tiny backlit
screen I'd have to scroll through)
---Wireless headset I could wear around the house (with another wireless
piece I could dial from, also anywhere around the house; and this piece
would also have Caller ID)
---No interference with my Linksys wireless router
I don't have a mobile, nor do I want one. So, this would all be coming
through my home landline.
How do you manage your phone setup? Of all the things I'm looking for, a
wireless headset that doesn't interfere with the Linksys is my biggest
Need to Have. (If you use Vonage, Skype, or any similar service, does it
work on conference calls? A friend of mine finally gave up using Vonage
on our conference calls, because he was always a beat behind everyone
and caused a great deal of confusion by interrupting people
unintentionally. The time lag, small as it was, was a killer.)
