OpenDocument approved as an ISO standard

On 1 May 2006, the OpenDocument format was approved as ISO/IEC 
26300 standard for the storage of documents produced by office 
software (word processor documents, spreadsheets, presentations, 
drawings, and others.)

OpenOffice.org 2.0.x fully supports the OpenDocument format. 
KOffice 1.5 for Linux also supports OpenDocument, and other 
programs are rapidly including support.
