Converting Word DOCs To PDF

I converted a Word DOC to PDF, yet all the links remain relative to the
source Word DOC. When I click on a link in the PDF, it tries to open the
Word DOC. I'm sure that there is a conversion setting that I'm missing, but
I can't find it. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it.
