The most humorous "Dummies" title I've seen (and there may be funnier
ones out there) was written for fans new to a fast-growing sport.
Written with the help of one of the sport's veteran stars, Mark Martin,
there is, in fact, a "NASCAR for Dummies" book. The first time I saw it
in the bookstore I had to stifle the urge to laugh out loud.
I don't dislike the sport--in fact I enjoy many forms of auto racing as
a fan, but there's just a certain demographic connotation associated
with oval track racing that makes a title like that seem...BRILLIANT!
