Geoff L is absolutely right when he says to use DocProperty variables. They
are extremely easy to implement and maintain, and conveniently, you can see
what the variables are set to by examining the docuemnt's properties, even
when it's closed.

So, to add formatting, and to add to the convenience, you 1) go into doc
properties and add your variables and set initial values, 2) close the
properties box and create a field to call the variable into the document, 3)
format the resulting insertion any way you choose, 4) highlight the whole
thing and make it an autotext entry. <g> If you name the entry with more
than 4 characters (e.g., "prodname" [w/o quotes]), then each time you type
"prod" [w/o qotes], Word will prompt prodname? in a little hover box and
you'll hit Enter and be done with it.

Thanks, Sue.

If I transfer the doc to someone else, will the autotext entry work for them too, or is it wired into my copy of Word?
