I can highly recommend the Archive utility from Bruce. In fact, it's
part of our standard operating procedures. Our archives created using
this tool have valid links and imported graphics, provided you make sure
there are no warnings during the archive process.
Note for those of you unfamiliar with it: it is for FrameMaker only.
One thing to consider is that when archiving the graphics used, it takes
only the files imported into the Frame file. If you have, for example,
a .cdr (Corel) source file, but create a .eps file from that to import
into Frame, only the .eps file gets pulled into the archive. We
consider the archive to be a "snapshot" of the document as it was at
that moment in time, and all that is needed to create a copy of the
original doc.

Subject: Archiving old projects...
My question to the forum is: have any of you used anything else to
archive old FrameMaker projects? Is there an open source tool that does
the same thing?

better (or something free), please reply.
