Do you know what Lotus Notes is? It is partly an application for
handling email messages. Would you think is strange if they said
Outlook instead of Notes?
However, it is much more than that. It has database and knowledgebase
functionality. You can create help application functionality with it.
It is an HTML browser with web hosting through its Domino
functionality. I'm currently using it as the application that
processes all my messages in the background with Outlook as the
frontend client through a connector.
It may be that the content you write will be delivered through Notes
rather than PDF or online help. Isn't it reasonable for them to
expect you to know something about it?
