Certainly not privy to any specific information, but I'm guessing it
may be a cyclical pattern. Many (most?) companies' fiscal year ends on
Dec. 31. It takes a couple weeks to crunch the numbers, and a few more
weeks to rethink budgets. When those budgets go bad, "head count"
(i.e., flesh-and-blood folks) must be reduced. This filters down to
the "reduced" in mid-to-late February.
