TOOLS: Manually Removing a Virus

Aloha,

Somehow I picked up the virus HTML.ObjectDataHTA. I scanned the 
system with two good antivirus utilities; one didn't even pick it up, 
and the other could not quarantine or repair the file. After scanning 
again in Safe Mode, I talked to the help desk for one of the 
utilities. The person said the virus would have to be removed 
manually. How dffficult Is this to do? I know where the buggers are. 
Is it as simple as deleting the files?

It's screwing up my web access, and I wonder if it has anything do 
with my earlier mysterious printer problems. As I posted earlier, I 
thought I had those fixed by applying the Page Setup to the entire 
document, which had several section breaks. This morning the problem 
recurred with a one-page document with no breaks at all! Aaaaarrrrgggghhh.

Meanwhile, the rush job goes on in what hard copy I have.
