>An intern last summer made a bunch of Word files from a database. The
files
>contain a bunch of tables.

>When the document is viewed in "Normal View," the tables look fine. When
>the document is viewed in "Print Layout View," the tables are layered on
top
>of each other (which is how the document prints). When the document is
>viewed in "Web Layout View," the tables are side by side in two columns.

The table properties were set to Text Wrapping > Around instead of "none."
Because there was no text outside of the tables, Word became extremely
confused and tried wrapping the tables around the tables.

Thanks Geoff Hart for some good suggestions, and Jackie Samuelson for the
final solution!
