We used these to decorate the Christmas tree too.

In Australia these were called Fags, 'fag' being slang for a cigarette. You
can still buy them but I see they're now called Fads...

I remember white tennis balls (actually a sort of yellowish grey colour).
When the green balls first came in you could also get red ones that were
supposedly easier to see in the evening. And we played on grass courts. And
the racquets were made of wood and you stored them in a press so they would
hold their shape.

I remember eight-ball overs, and calling out "O.C." before bowling the last
ball.

My oldest brother used a slide rule at high school. The four-function
pocket calculators were just coming out by the time he finished. He also
had a Spirograph set. How cool was that?
