It was 4 or 5 years ago, but the Human Factors course I took at the
University of Minnesota was geared towards usability. A short
description from the Department of Rhetoric website:
RHET 4501 - Usability and Human Factors in Technical Communication
Principles/concepts of human factors/usability testing. Developing
objectives, criteria, and measures. Conducting tests in lab, field,
and virtual environments. Using software programs to analyze
qualitative/quantitative data. Lab fee of $36 required for use of the
Usability Services Laboratory to conduct usability projects.
