TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I've been writing since I was a kid: poetry, short stories, then
journalism and into training with customized documentation, technical
writing and trade books available at your local bookstores. I was also a
fiction editor for four years at an esteemed journal. I still edit
books, as well as technical references including science and
mathematical papers and there is NEVER two spaces after a period, unless
1) you're using Courier, or 2) you're using a Typewriter. I have a 20
year old programmer doing some writing for me and he uses two periods
and I just had this conversation last night. But I'm the kinda gal that
thinks the CMS is the lamest reference manual in the world.
Back to slurking the list....
