Subject:Word still going crazy From:Brian Gordon <elasticsoul2003 -at- yahoo -dot- ca> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com> Date:Wed, 24 Aug 2005 13:17:18 -0400 (EDT)
I thought I'd make one last-ditch attempt to see if
anyone else on the list has dealt with anything like
the Word insanity that has been going on lately for me
- and hope you have a solution.
Here is the setup:
* P4 laptop, freshly formatted, XP Pro
* legitimate copy of Word 2003
* Documents checked into Subversion, a CVS system
* Computer shut down nightly
Here is the problem:
Word is going crazy. Seriously.
1. This morning, working on Word doc A
2. Opened Word doc B from an Outlook email
3. Word crashed
4. Recovered doc A file is wacky: page size went from
letter to custom 5.14 x 6.5 inches; margins are also
way off, Styles appear to be OK. Not sure what else
got messed up.
Any ideas? Could it be the CVS somehow? But then, why
would Word crash when I opened the doc from the email?
