My department is going thru a restructuring. Basically, we used to be
part of IT, but now we're switching to Retail Operations. Part of this
change involves the possibility of a job title change (no change in
duties, just job title wording). Previously I was a Documentation
Specialist. Now I'm a Technology Value Writer. The next job level
would be a Senior Technology Value Writer.
I was just curious to see how other corporations handle job titles. We
currently don't have a job title for anyone past senior level, so I'd be
curious to to hear suggestions for entry level thru advanced level
technical/documentation job writing titles. We're responsible for
online documentation, web development for the retailer web site, a
little bit of marketing for the retail computer system & paper docs.
