Yesterday someone suggested getting contact information for employees
with whom you work well that leave the company before you do. They will
not be subject to the same restrictions as those still employed by the
company, and they can also be good sources of leads on working
conditions at other firms if you maintain contact with them after they
leave.
I forget who originally posted the advice, but it is sound and
well-founded.
