You are missing the point big-time, in my not so humble opinion.

You know, it's really cool that America is the most productive country
in the world, that we have no healthcare, and that we only get two
weeks of vacation and hafta work at a place for five years or so
before we qualify for three.

But, you think I have to measure my vacation to Rome in terms of a ROI
for an employer run buy a guy and a board who make 7-figure salaries
and get 2 months of vacation a year. Huh?

You don't measure ROI on vacation in terms of your employment. You
measure it in terms of your humanity, your family -- have kids?
vacation is a good family thing to do. Seriously.
