TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Some very good responses--stuff I'd not thought of, especially the "we
don't have Internet access" kinda thang. Funny, considering that I almost
didn't have such access at my current contract...funny in that I take it
for granted.
Und zu Jens: bestimmt, dict.leo.org ist der Hammer! Unabkömmlich
(dict.leo.org nach).
Although I have always loved Webster's 9th New Collegiate as an abridged
dictionary, I find almost always that I use dictionary.com, dict.leo.org
when I read mopo.de and other German sites, and OmniDictionary when I'm at
home on my PowerBook (Tiger is my next project).
Language use is, of course, core to what we do (without being sacrosanct).
Tools that help us effect effective communication always are worth
sharing, n'est-ce que pas?
