Jon,
I wrote Sarbanes-Oxley documentation at my previous place of employment.
The final result was a slew of process maps, narratives (explaining each
phase of the process), and policies. My primary responsibility was to
document four major areas of IT (change management, computer operations,
security, and system development life cycle). Specifically, the
documentation I wrote addressed the department's role in the overall
financial reporting structure. For example, the IT department stored
financial data on cartridges that were located in the data center. I had
to write a process map that explained how this media is retired and
disposed so no one can access financial data. I also wrote a policy that
explained who can access the data center, how access is granted, etc.
HTH,
Ashaki
