The current annoyance that my wife reports with the new LG is that there is no obvious way to have a plain, solid color (or white) wallpaper, short of creating a suitable jpeg and paying to upload it to a Web site from which she can then pay to download it to her phone. Why can't she just turn off the stupid sports-themed colorful background that makes text and analog clockface completely unreadable?

There may, indeed, be a way to do that; but the "documentation," as I indicated, consists of a CD that is primarily a sales tool for all those cool-looking but useless wallpapers.
