And also, perhaps, a cautionary tale. Now that matchbook-cover
correspondence courses have morphed into "distance learning programs,"
one wants to be very careful about the quality standards of any
program of this sort.

I noted with amusement that the "Institute of Technical Writing"
trumpets their multiple accreditations, so it's a good idea to check
out the accrediting bodies pretty thoroughly too.
