Standards for my projects have always specified that we reflect the GUI (that's been discussed many times here).

However, they also specify to _never_ include any GUI label punctuation, unless it's something like this:

No. of users:

where No. means Number, which we'd write as:

No. of users

Or maybe when an apostrophe might similarly be used appropriately and necessarily... and I really can't come up with an example for that.
