I was just about to ask whether anyone knew where to find a RoboHelp XML
Handler for DITA, (perhaps as an add-in) since DocBook and XHTML

That question now seems secondary to these: Is the RoboHelp dev. freeze
intended to be permanent?

Well, Macromedia apparently laid off the entire development team; the RoboHelp Product Manager left to start a new venture.

Was there a press release to this effect?

No press release. Macromedia has stated a continuing commitment to "sell and support" RoboHelp but, even when pressed, declined any continuing commitment to "develop" RoboHelp. I guess that is understandable in light of their no longer having a development team.

Where can it be found?

There is some spirited discussion here:

Should current users of RoboHelp be panicking?

I doubt that panicking would be helpful. A little planning, however, is probably called for.
