Getting a clearance is relatively simple.

Get a job with a company that has 'any work with the government'.

A lot of companies that get government jobs have to have staff on hand, or
identified for the contract.

If you are relatively 'clean', pass the police checks, have a reasonably
good credit score, and are interested in the type of work. you might get
'cleared' in an interim basis, depending on the need of the contract.

After that, you will need to fill out a set of security paperwork that can
get quite extensive.

That gets submitted to the security people and the act on it. Either you
make it or you don't.

However, once you get the clearance, and stay there a while, you can look
for other opportunities.

Doors do open, they might lead to better things.

I say, 'look for the opportunities, not the roadblocks.'

Sincerely,

Harry
