Heya all,
So IT "upgraded" the computer I use to make PDFs on, and although they
installed the same versions of Word (2000) and Acrobat (5) that I was
using before, can I get it to make a PDF for me now? Not so much.
My usual process of, from the Word document, click Adobe PDF> Change
Conversion Settings and check that the bookmark settings are correct. Then
I close that dialog, and click Adobe PDF> Convert to PDF. Now something
starts to happen, but I'm not getting the Save dialog, and it looks like a
PDF is being created, then Acrobat finishes doing whatever and...no PDF
anywhere. Not in the same folder as the doc, nor anywhere on the computer.
I fiddled with every setting I could think of but still nuthin'. Any ideas
...and in a related news story...
In total frustration, I tried making PDFs on ~my~ computer, despite the
fact that doing so pooches it. So when I finally do get it to spit out a
PDF, it's got no bookmarks, even though I've got Bookmarks> Convert Word
Headings to Bookmarks and several levels of heading selected. Instead of
bookmarks, I get bupkiss. GAH. Any ideas for this problem?
...I can't wait to go to AuthorIT. At least then I'll have a totally new
an refreshing set of problems to make me homicidally stressed...
Help me Obi Geek Kenobi; you're my only hope,
Mandy...upgrading is stupid
