Just to jump in late on this thread...

Our site's standard ergonomic chair is a model from
Steelcase, the contract office furniture people better
known for filing cabinets. It's a fairly heavy, steel-framed
and upholstered affair with a lot of adjustability. Besides
the obligatory pneumatic height adjustment, it has
adjustments for seat tilt, seat depth, backrest height
(which doesn't go *quite* high enough for my taste),
backrest tilt range, and backrest tension. But its biggest
claim to fame is that the armrests are individually
adjustable for both height and width. It's really nice
to be able to park a fairly wide butt in the chair
without having to squeeze within the armrests, then
slide the armrest cushions in so that they support your
elbows right at your sides.
