It never occured to me to not make the page number dynamic not to
think that someone would read that in my statement. In fact, I don't
think I've ever typed a page number in my professional career. In
reallity, one of my most used cross reference goes something like:

See [heading] in Chapter "[chaptername]" starting on page [pagenum]

Translated, it may appear as:

See "Error Messages" in Chapter "Automation Tools" starting on page
76.

It was just easier to say use a page number and leave it at that.
