I am usually a contractor, and have seen no possibility
of getting to any conferences at all. The last time I
attended anything like this was when I worked for a
university and was paid to attend meetings of the Unix
Users' Group. To give a hint of the timeframe, I'll
mention that Joe Ossanna, developer of troff, was there.

There has been no money, no time, and no thought or action
or even hints at anyone attending a conference for
anything. I did go to a couple of DSP programming classes a
few years ago, travel paid by my employer. But I helped
by scrimping on hotel bills--I stayed at my brother's
house, even borrowed his car. I think he and his wife would
have preferred that I'd stayed in a hotel.

How would you describe your conference/training attendance?
* I go, and my company pays for it.
* My company does not pay for it, so I pay for it.
* My company does not pay for it, so I do not go.
* I am a contractor, and pay for conferences myself.
* I am a contractor but cannot afford conferences.
* I do not see any benefit in attending conferences.
* Other/None of the Above
