Okay, let's say we're looking at Table 1. Do you mean
that at the beginning, it'd be Table 1-1, then Table
1-2, at the top of the next page, Table 1-3 at the top
of the third, etc.?
No. What I meant was that if a table is labeled Table 1-1 because it is the first table in chapter 1 (a common situation but by no means a universal convention), each page after the first would be labeled Table 1-1 (continued). Typically (but not always) the table header style is boldface, and usually (but not always) the word continued is italic, not bold.
However, I have not encountered the situation Donna describes. I'm talking about tables that run for a maximum of three pages, where identifying the page number is more information than the reader needs.
