As far a serial numbers go in electronic equipment, this is not out of
the ordinary. Look at a motherboard on any computer and try to find the
serial numbers, or the text that is probably on the bottom of your mouse
or keyboard. You will find that text pretty tiny as well.

I'm guessing though that the real reason that the text is so small, is
so that you will be forced to hire younger workers. It's a "jobs
program" to ensure that people aren't displaced by technology all
together.

But seriously, with the multitude of ways to get that serial number, and
the extremely small size of the unit to begin with, it is hardly a
wonder why the text is so small.
