This might be true. It might also be true that those same users will
have no trouble recognizing that the combination of SW and docs
that you provide to them as a finished product is a disjointed and
disorganized combination that annouces to the world that your
company is as well.

While the best thing to do would certainly be to get input into the UI
design and create something of higher quality, a user perception
of a design team that is contemptuously at each others' throats
is far worse than one of a design team that isn't consistent in its
UI design.
