One other point, when I stated that I haven't seen any tech pubs folks who have moved up in the ranks, I neglected to point out folks like the founders of the now subsumed Hall Kinion (bought out by K-Force).

Indeed, there have been a few tech writers who have pierced this glass ceiling and gone on to make millions and wield considerable power.

Are there other success stories where tech comm folks have hit the big time?
